If you are reading this, you just got really lucky. You get to decide whether it’s good or bad luck you just encountered.

This computer should have been a factory reject. When I bought it, it sounded like a really good system which came with a 64GB SSD, a 320GB 7200 rpm SATA HDD, 4 gb DDR3 memory, DVD Burner, 128MB Graphics card and a dual core processor.

The individual who decided to install a 64-Bit version of windows xp was pretty smart. When I got home, I quickly learned that everyone else who had touched this computer was a complete moron

In the past six months, it has been returned for repair or replacement of failed parts three times. The first thing to go was the USB hub. Second came the HDD. The third time the CPU overheated while I was trying to install something that ought to be called Orifice and the thing actually caught on fire. In between those times the operating system crashed more times than I can count. I think I remember sometime back in August when it worked for a whole week once, before the usual errors started popping up.

This time I ordered the replacement parts and fixed it myself. It wasn’t easy because my laptop was no longer being manufactured. I could not reach an actual human being through customer support who could ship me the parts so I had to twist the arm of the person who sold me the laptop to point me in the right direction (which was immensely satisfying by the way).
.
Everything has been replaced but the SSD, which isn’t too reliable either. I found a motherboard, CPU, memory, cooling fan, DVD burner and all the wiring for a machine that looked identical but had a different model number. I replaced the HDD with one of my own choosing.

Transferring this file is the last thing I will ever do with this computer. I was trying all day before I finally got it to boot up with a flash drive in ubuntu.

I can’t afford a new copy of windows to install on the 500 GB HDD and the SDD is probably going to fail, so after I transfer this file to it, I’m shutting it off for the last time. Hope it starts up for you. With the money you just gave me, I’m going to buy a MacBook

Enjoy.

Hey, where did my CRT monitor go?

It seems to be missing now...

When I got a new computer several years ago, I put the keyboard, mouse and CRT Monitor by the curb. Usually someone comes by and grabs the stuff there. Someone took the keyboard and mouse but left the CRT. I couldn't even give it away. :D

haha, i'm not worried about getting rid of PC junk, there's a guy at the local TAFE that takes pretty much anything related to a PC, CRT's keyboard, mobo's SD ram sticks etc.

I just dump my stuff at TAFE, and within the day it'll be gone.
