Fourth BSOD in a week. Twice while running Anti-Virus scan

I was given this homebuilt system by a friend. Fresh Win7 install. I Use Kapersky internet security from my ISP surewest. My system has BSOD 4 times this week. At first I thought at random times but I noticed twice its happened while I tried to run a complete system scan.
I went back thru all my drivers and even went from 6Gb ram to 4Gb to 2Gb in different configs as there are 4 slots on this board and he has 2-1Gb sticks and 2-2Gb sticks.

Two of four DMP's pointed to Kaspersky...

Kaspersky is a frequent cause of BSOD's.

I would remove and replace it with Microsoft Security Essentials AT LEAST TO TEST.

I agree with JMH in that Kaspersky is a known cause and at least two of the four point to it. Just to be on the safe side can we run a system file check to verify the OS files?

Thanks guys. JMH- I ran the Kapersky remover and it said Kapersky was not detected yet if you look at the screenshot i attached in the lower right taskbar that it is, also you can see the widget in the background in the upper right.
I used win uninstall to uninstall it and installed Microsoft security. I will update post after I run first the SFC that ZigZag suggested and then a full scan of my pc.

Kaspersky is installed (see snip) the remover may not be aware of all their variants. Try removing it in Programs. Ugh!

good evening guys. so have i got a lot of info for you tonight.
removed kapersky and installed WSE. ran full scan, ran for a while and found some stuff however BSOD before it finished so ni clean and no record of bad files.
ran scannow. results attached
ram memory test. picture of results attached. i reinstalled all my ram and 3 BSOD at boot untill i pulled all but the 2Gb im running now. all 3 BSOD were upon reboot after memery test.

so after all this i am fully past the denile stage and onto the "my system is FUBAR" stage

Probably not the whole system but the RAM/mobo has problems. If you havent already take a known good ram stick and try it in each of the mobo slots.
