looking for a free version of something like this Memory Card Recovery Software to Recover Lost Photos - CardRecovery
that will allow me to recover a bunch of HD video clips that were mistakenly erased

: Try PhotoRec PhotoRec - CGSecurity . Do go through PhotoRec Step by Step here before embarking. ( haven't had an opportunity to try it though.)
