I can't believe Inkscape isn't on this list! It's a terrific vector image editing program.

Transpose 1.3.0.0

I made a small hotkey program using AutoHotKey to change a few mouse and keyboard hotkeys in programs I use frequently.

The main reason I wrote it was to make Control-t transpose the 2 characters left of the caret. The most common typo I make is reversed characters. By hitting Control-t I can fix it on the fly("thsi" after Control-t becomes "this" as I originally intened.) Since I run that in the Task Tray all the time now, I added a few other changes.

As it is when you download, the Control-t works in
EditPad Lite, Notepad, Treepad, a few other editors, and Firefox and Chrome based Browsers.

Also it changes how links are opened in tabs in Chrome based browsers.

Here's the other thing, I was trying One Click to Open in Windows, but it messed up multiple selection in Explorer. So I went back to double click, but via Transpose, Middle Mouse Click is treated as double click only in Explorer Windows. Kind of best of both worlds.

Your preferences will be different. So I included the AHK source code. You can install AutoHotKey on your system if you don't already have it. It's a free download and free program:

AutoHotkey - Free Mouse and Keyboard Macro Program with Hotkeys and AutoText

By following how I did it in the source you can change it to suit yourself, then compile it or just run the script through ahk.

It's pretty neat because you can add editors by adding a line in the AHK script to GroupAdd the editor. The hotkey is only changed when one of those in the group is the active window. Avoids conflict with programs that use Control-t or the other hotkeys.

The download includes the source. You can get it from my site here:

Hotkeys

Just click the Transpose link.

Note that if you are running one of the recent Chromium nightly builds, clicking to open a Tab in Foreground may be broken. I submitted a bug report to Chromium. I'm running Chromium build 63747 and new Tab in Foreground works with this build(and I assume most earlier builds.)

See the Readme for instructions to add programs to the EditGroup.

Could you please add, it is a nice little video converter I came accross while helping someone out earlier:

"The RAD Video Tools are a set of utilities for processing video, animation, and sound data. They include both of our video codecs: Bink Video, our current 24-bit true-color codec, and Smacker, our much older 256-color codec. All modern games now use Bink - Smacker is rarely used now-a-days.
Bink Video is a "better-than-DVD" video codec. That is, it compresses better than DVD at up to three times the playback speed! Bink scales from the low-end Nintendo DS all the way up to HD video on the latest consoles and PCs.
Smacker was designed to compress 256-color video and animation for the previous generation of games. It is now used mostly with games that need to run on very low-end hardware (the education market, for example). It is unlikely that you will need to use Smacker for your videos."

It's called "The RAD video tools" works quite well

Bink Downloads

here is the user guide for it as well:

Aimp, good. But sound ... Not so happy with it. U can not compare it with wmp or winamp. I'm using it because it's small & more user friendly, at least in my opinion.

Suggestion for the list. Could we might set this list into different categories for each subject matter.....Like a section for maintenance for utilities software, one for bugs to include spyware, adware, malware and viruses....and so on. I think it would make posting a link to this page with a direct subject title for that particular section for members who looking for such apps easier to find. Instead of having to scroll threw the list all willy nilly. Just a thought....

That would be a good suggestion if that was the raison d'être for the forum. But Brink already does 10,000 other things. If only interested in a category, search. You should get hits in the descriptions.. as in "editor" or "syntax highlighting editor" or "firewall" or other area of interest.

The point was to categorize the list. So that when the list was referred to for help, it could be referred to a specific area of the list. That's all I was trying to suggest.
