Member henrtg turn me on to SyncBack Freeware V3.2.20.0 at 2BrightSparks | Freeware I have been using it for a few weeks now & it's backing up to a external hard drive & over a network & a lot more.

SyncBack is our freeware program that helps you easily backup and synchronize your files to: the same drive; a different drive or medium (CDRW, CompactFlash, etc); an FTP server; a Network; or a Zip archive.

ResizeExplorer

Here's a little Tray App I wrote for someone on another board. He has an Explorer enhancement software that adds tabs to Explorer but his system won't open the Explorer window to the size and position desired.

It could also be useful, say when you open Computer and it has a scroll bar instead of showing all the drives or whatever. The point is, it sits in the tray, you open Explorer and move and size it how you want, then use the Tray Menu of ResizeExplorer to save this size and position. That's it. It only resizes and positions the first Explorer window instance. IOW, if you open another folder it isn't going to stick it directly over the current window. It leaves it alone. Once no Explorer windows are open anymore, it's "rearmed."

I just posted about this in another thread (LINK). I found a nice font viewer that works well in Windows 7. I had been using The Font Thing, but it's old and is a little buggy in W7, though it works fine. Nexus Font is free and has some nice features. I've tested it, as well as used it with Paint Shop Pro X2, which adds the viewed (uninstalled) and minimized fonts to its list. You can add your own sub-folders of uninstalled fonts to a list and check-mark the ones you want to view. Also, it's FAST! I'm liking it a lot!

I've downloaded an tested it, and it works great on Windows 7 Ultimate x64. It adds a "SDExplorer" icon to Computer in Windows Explorer, from which you can login to your Windows Live SkyDrive account, and drag and drop to and from it using Windows Explorer.

Without spending like 8 hours doing a defrag, Puran has given the best CrystalDiskMark numbers I've seen on both my 32 bit and 64 bit PCs. I actually got sequential read and write scores over 100 MB/sec on my 64 bit PC right after doing a Puran defrag with all the optimzations enabled.

Basically a slightly less bulky (but much less featured messaging program.. It gives little popups that tell you when people you've added on any of your messaging accounts goes on or offline, and I think it shows messages too. Works better for me than running bulky old Live Messager.

Yet another media player. This one has Firefox built into the program (listen to music and use internet in the same UI), has addons that install like Firefox. I believe one of the add-ons is iPod support. Sadly, it's kinda bulky. I get around 100k memory usage idle...

A couple of simple toys.....

I'm attaching a zip file with a couple of little toys I found very useful on XP, and have updated for Win7.

The first is a wrap up of Managament Console applets in a "System Manager" that has most of the system's settings and tools right at hand...

The second is a very simple autologon creator... just enter your username and password then click Enable... when you reboot it will take you right into the account... simple as pie.

Feel free to add these to the freeware list if you like....
