Just my 2 cents: I have used DriveImage XML and don't like it, too many things to go wrong when you want to restore (I have been there). Use Cobain backup much better and since it will save uncompressed, ZIP or 7z you have the ability to restore your data to a completely different machine. No need to rebuild your dead machine first plus you can restore without installing the software (very nice). If you need some important data ASAP you can use a laptop/desktop and get the data right away and deal with the repair/restore later.

Reading the Cobian web page I got the impression that Cobian backs up files but does not make a drive image. Am I missing something?

I highly recommend anyone who uses more than one monitor check out ZBar.

It's by the developer of stickies (which also rocks). It displays a taskbar on each additional monitor, with buttons that reflect either all taskbar programs, or just those on each monitor (the way I prefer it). The buttons are also capable of Windows 7 style thumbnail tool tips when you hover over them (does not require Aero). Also lets you set unique wallpaper for each screen or span one image across all of them.

Very handy tool, love this author's software.

I don't understand why you have GIMP listed as having to use "run as admin" - I never did anything of the sort and it runs just fine for me.

Real Temp is a temperature monitoring program designed for all Intel single Core, Dual Core and Quad Core processors. Each core on these processors has a digital thermal sensor (DTS) that reports temperature data relative to TjMax which is the safe maximum operating core temperature for the CPU.
