This is probably a long shot, but does anyone know a free program like Macro Express.

I want to send email and not have to keep cutting and paste things into the email. Each email is different, but the cut and paste text parts are pretty much the same.

Hope that makes sense.

When I have to send out emails, usually I cut & paste the different phrases to form a complete email. Not every email is the same and they also go to different people.

The one thing that stays the same are the phrases, which I cut & paste.

Macro Express lets me input the phrases and memorizes them. Once I start an email, I can a particular hotkey it will input the phrase. Saving me time, once I remember all the hotkeys or shortcuts.

Used it at work, but needed something similar at home and hopefully free.

maybe you need some sort of clipboard extender, so you can store lots of clips at the same time?

here's a free one, i haven't tried it, don't know if it suits your needs, but i'm sure you can google for alternatives when you have the time.

Features: Windows clipboard has a limitation. You can only copy once, though paste it many times. So if there are multiple things to be copy pasted you could only do it one by one. xNeat Clipboard Manager lets you copy multiple items before pasting. It organizes the clippings so that you can find, the one you need, easily. It keeps track of things copied into the clipboard. You can bring up a menu of items containing the clippings so that you could choose one to paste. A hot key can be set up for the paste operation. If you need to change this combination, that is possible too. You can choose to have any key combinations that is convenient to you.

Beat me to it. I'm a Thunderbird user and I was going to suggest the OP try that feature. Also there are AddOns for TB similar to FF. I haven't looked at what's available in awhile.

The OP can hand craft one fairly easily using AutoIt3. Clipboard text manipulation or even "typing" it in via macro is easy. Plus AutoIt3 has a syntax and keywords that make it easy to learn for a first-time programmer. You can get help writing scripts and also download the interpreter and tools here:

AutoIt Forums

The software is free and should run on Windows XP or later.

It's a pretty fun language to program. It has user defined functions and is easy to pick up. I like to do a lot of my hotkey tray utilities with it. When you create a useful function you can put it in an include file so that you don't have to write the same code over and over again. Also many users post their UDFs on the forum for others to download and use. The best ones are included in the AutoIt3 standard download package.

Think about it this way, lets say you have ten different templates. When ready to compose and email I wanna quickly pick out three of four of the templates in no particular order. Then send an email.

I must be over complicating my objectives.

The easiest way is the clipboard utility. If you want something more customized, see below.

Try here:

Post New Requests Here - DonationCoder.com

If you catch one of the programmers in a good mood they may write it for you. Or you may customize one of the Auto Hot Key programs already available there. Skrommel tends to include source code with all his AHK scripts. You could see if there's something close:

Another considerations is, if you just want the solution to this email issue, use a clipboard or email client utility. If you think you may want to learn to create some of these yourself, check out the AutoIt3 forum.
