hi, i sometimes experience crashes when i watch Youtube videos. the screen turns black for awhile, then a message pops up (shown below).

scaled.php

that is one of the two problems i have. the second problem is when i'm playing a game (Heroes of Newerth) and my computer just freezes.

this all started after i used the program Driver Genius Professional to update my drivers. me being the dumbass that i am, did not create a backup before updating. after the update it fixed some of the sound issues i had with games, but also started causing crashes when i watched Youtube videos. this was about a month ago and as time passed it got worse and worse. it started causing my computer to freeze whenever i played games. after i restart my computer from a crash sometimes it starts up to a black screen and just sits there until i restart agan.

i've attached a .txt file with the information from dxdiag. i'm quite a "noob" when it comes to computers so if i have missed anything please let me know.

thanks.

thanks for the reply Capt.Jack Sparrow.

i've gone through the link you've posted and unfortunately i got quite confused. i didn't understand what i was suppose to do. however i did read something about doing a disk check, which i did. i got to a point where it said "110,000,000 free clusters processed." then my computer froze before it finished (mainly because I watched a Youtube video on full screen).
110,000,000 seems like a huge number to me. is this normal?
anyway, i would appreciate it if you could guide me through the link you posted.

thanks again.

EDIT: not sure if this will help but this is a list of drivers that were updated that day; which i believe started causing these problems:

Realtek High Definition Audio Drivers - version 6.0.1.6602
Microsoft IntelliType Pro Drivers - version 8.20.409.0
Logitech SetPoint - version 5.33.10.0
Realtek GbE FE Ethernet PCI NIC Drivers -version 7.053.0216.2012

Hi there!

110,000,000 free clusters processed is fine it's just clusters. Run the Prime95 test and FurMark test and lets see what happens.

for the Prime95 test i have attached my results to this post. i only did it for 5 hours as i need to go to bed and i don't want to keep my computer on for the rest of the night. however, if you do want me to repeat the test for a longer amount of time i can, just not today.

the FurMark test was interesting. it lasted for about 30s-50s then it froze like it does when i'm playing games. i'm not sure how to get the actual results as my computer froze and i had to restart. i'm pretty sure i failed though.

again, thank you for your reply.

Prime95 tests seems to be OK according to the logs. But FurMark freezing is not a good sign. That means either we have issues with GPU card or it's not getting enough power from PSU. Download HWMonitor and check the Temps see if the GPU is overheated. Then see if you can find a alternative GPU card to see if we have the same problem.

i've done the HWMonitor and i've attatched my results. is there anything else i could do before testing with an alternate gpu. i really don't want to go find one as i'm too confident in finding one.

do you think this one would work for me?
@BIOS
if so, would I download the @BIOS download (For X79 Chipset motherboards) or the @BIOS download.

That should work, but make double sure you use the correct model for your board.
