Freezing during regular use, difficulty downloading

A few days ago my computer started to freeze up during routine tasks, various things will start to stick until nothing works and sometime it just freezes on the spot. At that point I need to manually shut down the computer.

Safe mode seems unaffected.

I have tried closing all non essential processes but it has had no affect.

Have virus scanned with Avast, Malwarebytes and Windows Defender.

Windows updates dont download, the tray icon says they are downloaded to a random percentage that doesnt increase (changes each start up). Also had problems downloading the latest version of flash player that did not happen in safe mode. Downloads in firefox are taking several attempts again not affected in safe mode.

Problem did advance to the point where on startup there was only a black screen and mouse pointer and nothing else would work, reverted to my furthest back restore point which got rid of that specific problem but simply returned me to my current problem.

Please provide us with your Event Viewer administrative logs by following these steps:


Click Start Menu
Type eventvwr into Search programs and files (do not hit enter)
Right click eventvwr.exe and click Run as administrator
Expand Custom Views
Click Administrative Events
Right click Administrative Events
Save all Events in Custom View As...
Save them in a folder where you will remember which folder and save as Errors.evtx
Go to where you saved Errors.evtx
Right click Errors.evtx -> send to -> compressed (zipped) folder
Upload the .zip file here.

Here you go. I didnt include them before because I went through them already and I didnt see anything that would indicate the problem but you will probably get more out of them than I did.

OK there are quite a few networking issues Including DHCP. Are you running a server over homegroup?

1-dependancies that are broken (ie a service is disabled or corrupt)

The Computer Browser service depends on the Server service which failed to start because of the following error:

2-Many net framework issues

4-Windows updates are failing because a need previous update is missing.





Much more.


Might just be easier to repair install, or better yet clean install.

Not running a server no but ive been having router problems where the router often dropps internet connection.

I dont have a clue what the CD error is. I dont use my DVD drive that often although it sometimes fails to open.

Is it possible for me to just repair my windows install while keeping all my files and folders because I cant really be bothered reinstalling everything again?

I think a previous crash has caused a windows update to fail which has in turn caused this problem.

For some reason DHCP is pointing to your routers inside IP when it should be pointed outside (like your ISP, google, etc)

I dont have a clue what the CD error is. I dont use my DVD drive that often although it sometimes fails to open.

Its just failing a status check and that takes 30 secs each time it does, hence a freeze.

Is it possible for me to just repair my windows install while keeping all my files and folders because I cant really be bothered reinstalling everything again?

There is a good tutorial here for repair install, just remember repair only fixes OS files, so any other problems you have (and you have) wont be fixed. Clean install is better but a decided PTIA.
