http://www.sevenforums.com/gaming/6406-starcraft-freezing-game.html

So I have a problem. After winxp format and install windows7 x64 7068 I have had some freezing things like when I'm playing starcraft or fallout 3 the screen just freezing and I cant move, I heard only sound of starcraft. Fallout 3 let me shut down the game and start it again but starcraft wants me to restart my computer.
I had NVIDIA driver 181.71 but it thought the problem is in driver so I installed WINvista x64 latest driver. It wasnt a solution my problem because freezing continued. Temperatures lowered 80-85 (fallout 3) 68-70 (starcraft) to 56-62 but it was only good thing.
Next thing what I've tryed, I updated bios but the problem is still here. So can someone give me any solution or ideas for this problem?

I have Amd athlon x64 + 6000 3.0ghz
3GB ram
NVIDIA 8600GT + latest win vista driver
Asus motherboard M2N-SLI DELUXE

Try the latest beta for Vista driver x64 found here:

download from Guru3D.com

And look to see if there are any available patches to the games that are causing you problems. Fallout 3 has a 1.4 patch available from Vitality and works well for lots of people on ATI and nVidia cards, including me.

If these don't help, go to your motherboard manufacturer's website and see if they have any updated drivers.

Okay.. It's saying "Nvidia installer didn't find matching drivers for used hardware. Installer will be aborted now" I translated it, something like that. I runned in vista combatibility mode with admistator permissions.

I think the latest win vista BETA driver is for 9 series not for mine 8600GT

So I try now Version: 180.84 BETA

I was just at Asus.com and saw that there's a bios update for your board dated March 2, 2009. Installing that would probably help if you're still having troubles, as long as you follow their instructions and don't lose power as you're doing it.

Yep, pretty annoying. Same thing happens to me and my brother's. I'm on a Dell Studio laptop with a ATI 3200, my bro's got a Q6600 ATI 4870 512MB, happens to us all the time... so if anyone's got a solution let us know!
