Hello,a few months ago my pc started acting up after 18 months faithful service.
When i put it to sleep it wouldnt wake up,then it would not start sometimes after it had been shut down, unless you pulled out the power cord for a few minutes then it would start up.
Now it will not start without freezing 4 or 5 times, always with this on the screen

I hope the photo and zip file works,i dont know what im doing.
It has an Asrock N68C-S UCC
AMD Athlon II x4 640
4gb of DDR3
I have uninstalled OCtuner and uninstalled and reinstalled java last night and updated the bios to the latest version.
Could it be my PSU or my motherboard?
I have ran memtest86+ on it for hours and it had no errors.
Anyway,i hope someone can help point me in the right direction.
Thank you in advance.

I suggest the following while you wait someone to read the dump file (I haven't learned yet).
1. if you have anti virus software other than Microsoft Security Essentials, uninstall it and get MSE if you don't have it
2. can you boot in safe mode? If so, does it behave any differently?
3. Download Malwarebytes anti malware and run a full scan while in safe mode (couldn't hurt)
4. if you are overclocking with BIOS settings, turn them back to normal.

We'll help, don't worry. Lotta really smart people here.

Hello, thanks for replying. It still freezes in safe mode and i have ran malwarebytes and it came back clean.
I have avast installed and it has never been overclocked, although i did attempt to overclock it when it was first built, using Octuner, but it would always BSOD so i just left it stock settings.

I just got back in after leaving the pc on all day,to find it was frozen with the red lines on the display.
I rebooted it and a black page came up with press f1 to load default values and cmos checksum bad.
I replaced the battery only a couple of months ago.
Does anyone have any ideas yet?

Uninstall Avast, and install Microsoft Security Essentials. Avast is a know problem causer (not always) but try it anyway. Another thing you can try is reseating all expansion cards (pull them out and plug them back into the motherboard). This would include video cards, sound cards, anything that's plugged into a PCI slot. Also, try reseating your RAM as well.
Please fill out your system specs more completely. This can be done on the forum User CP (top of the screen). Knowing what hardware you have helps a lot.

Hello,i have since fitted a brand new 500w psu and a brand new mobo, same spec and model. No change.
I also have tried booting using another HDD with win 7 and that didn't work either,it froze exactly the same.
I am now running memtest 86+ overnight.
I have removed avast and have no sound or graphic cards fitted.
I will post what happens after the memtest has been on 12 hours.
Do you think the cpu could be at fault?

It is possible but let us try to eliminate everything else first. If you have installed a new mobo (same as the old one) then hopefully we can rule that out. You say you have no graphics card installed so then you are using the mobo onboard video? Let us know about the memtest results and we'll go from there.

That's good news on the Memtest. OK on the graphics.
If you installed a new mobo and memory seems OK and you've tried a different HDD, that only leaves 2 hardware possibilities: 1. CPU is shot 2. the new mobo is defective. That's about all I can think of, hardware wise. I suppose you could try a new CPU...

I was getting bsod errors because of the octuner program, which controls fan speed and overclocking etc,so i uninstalled it.
I installed speedfan tonight, just to quiet the cpu fan down, and 10 seconds after running it i got a bsod.
Does this indicate a faulty cpu maybe?

Since you have replaced every other major component, and eliminated others through testing or temorary replacement, the only thing you have not replaced is the CPU. In my opinion, trying another CPU is the last thing you can try from a hardware point of view. You have replaced the mobo, tested the RAM enough to eliminate that as a problem, tried another HDD, eliminated the non-mobo video by not using it, replaced the power supply. All that is left is a CPU.
