Frequent "application has stopped working" error messages!

Lately whenever I attempt to install a new application I get the "application has stopped working" error message. Has happened now with several different applications. Sometimes I get an installation error 1001. Does anyone know why this occurs? Do I have a corrupt system file or registry? I have tried several different registry cleaners to no avail. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks.

Perform a SFC Scan (System File Check)

1. Click Start, click All Programs, click Accessories, right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or click Allow

2. Type the following command, sfc /scannow and then press ENTER:

(A message will appear stating that 'The system scan will begin'. Be patient because the scan may take some time)

3. If any files require a replace SFC will replace them. You may be asked to insert your Windows 7 DVD for this process to continue

4. If everything is okay you should, after the scan, see the following message "Windows resource protection did not find any integrity violations"

5. After the scan has completed, close the command prompt window, restart the computer. (TIP repeat scan 3 times)

Is it any program you try to install? Or just certain ones?

I am having a similar issues with one program. Windows closes the program. It does this on several screens within the program and sometimes when the program is open but not in use. I have attached a screen shot of the error message.

Please start your own thread and follow the http://www.sevenforums.com/crashes-debugging/96879-blue-screen-death-bsod-posting-instructions.html. You are not likely to get a helpful response within this thread due to the age of the thread. As you can see in the quote you referenced, the instructions help with application crashes as well as blue screens, so they are not limited to just blue screen analysis.

Does your warranty allow you to open up the machine to check hardware?
