Hi guys,

I've been getting frequent BSOD after Windows goes to Sleep. I'm getting BAD_SYSTEM_CONFIG_INFO, KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR and CRITICAL_OPJECT_TERMINATION errors pretty regularly. I ran chkdsk on my C: drive and got a registry file failure. This is a fairly recent build (<8 months). Any help would be appreciated.

The three most recent crashes were related to registry errors. Have you run a registry cleaner on it?

The BAD_SYSTEM_CONFIG_INFO bug check occurs if the SYSTEM hive is corrupt. However, this corruption is unlikely, because the boot loader, known as NT Loader (NTLDR) in versions of Windows prior to Vista, checks a hive for corruption when it loads the hive.
This bug check can also occur if some critical registry keys and values are missing. Thee keys and values might be missing if a user manually edited the registry.

How To Find Drivers:
- search Google for the name of the driver
- compare the Google results with what's installed on your system to figure out which device/program it belongs to
- visit the web site of the manufacturer of the hardware/program to get the latest drivers (DON'T use Windows Update or the Update driver function of Device Manager).
- if there are difficulties in locating them, post back with questions and someone will try and help you locate the appropriate program.

- - The most common drivers are listed on this page: Driver Reference "http://www.carrona.org/dvrref.php"]Driver Reference

I haven't had any BSOD when returning from Sleep but I still get BAD_SYSTEM_CONFIG_INFO when I run chkdsk on my C: drive. I ran CCleaner and had it fix a few errors but that hasn't corrected the problem. What would be a good way to pinpoint registry errors?

IMHO

Dont use registry cleaners unless you are expert with them. The can cause more harm than good. Your bad bad system config is probably because one of them.

Dont worry registry errors, win 7 is much more tolerant of them than previous OS'.
