Hello,

The first dump blames AVG Identity Protection. Honestly, at this point, I think it's best to remove that completely, using the tool found here: AVG - Download tools

If the BSODs persist, run driver verifier: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/101379-driver-verifier-enable-disable.html

After you've had more BSODs caused by driver verifer, please upload a jcgriff2 report: http://www.sevenforums.com/crashes-debugging/96879-blue-screen-death-bsod-posting-instructions.html

thanks for your quick reply,
I've actually removed AVG using this tool some time ago, so the last BSODs will probably point to something else.
I'll install Driver Verifier and wait for the next seizure...

Apologies, I posted the wrong advice in this thread; what I posted was for this one. The disadvantages to trying to juggle multiple threads!

My advice to you is a little different; I suggest you uninstall Daemon Tools first thing. When that is done, remove SPTD with this tool: http://www.duplexsecure.com/download/SPTDinst-v174-x64.exe
Code:
sptd.sys Sun Oct 11 16:55:14 2009 (4AD24632)
a0eiq1p0.SYS Tue Jul 14 17:12:55 2009 (4A5CF4D7)
aenh4ygb.SYS Tue Jul 14 17:12:55 2009 (4A5CF4D7)
a1f3v91q.SYS Tue Jul 14 17:12:55 2009 (4A5CF4D7)
a85wublc.SYS Tue Jul 14 17:12:55 2009 (4A5CF4D7)
Install this updated Realtek network driver: Realtek
Code:
Rt64win7.sys Thu Feb 26 04:04:13 2009 (49A65B0D)
Finally install updated Card Reader drivers from here: ftp://driver.jmicron.com.tw/CardReader/Windows/JMB38X_WinDrv_R1.00.56_WHQL.zip

The driver verifier is still a good idea; run that if the BSODs persist after the above changes.

Still the problem is there...

I first ran the verifier, which caused my computer to slow down and made the BSODs less frequent. But after about a week and a half it crashed. I was happy because I thought that I might get some information from the verifier, but it crashed so badly that windows couldn't start anymore... doe!
So I restored a backup (image of C: - system restore wouldn't work) from a couple of months ago and did everything as you suggested with the drivers. After a few days I got BSOD again.
Dump is attached.

Can't find time for all these HW tests... Do have some updates though.

- Took the laptop to a lab, where they've tested RAM and HDD and found no errors.
- Tried to install SP1, no success. Windows Update fails with no reason given (unknown error...). Tried to install manually from Microsoft site, it also refuses to install. Tried Update Readiness Tool and the Update Troubleshooter, no luck. Tried renaming %windir%/SoftwareDistribtion, still no luck. When I open Windows Update, it shows SP1 as important, but the box is not checked (unless I check it manually).
- Ran "sfc /scannow". It found errors, but couldn't fix some. Log attached.
