Frequent BSOD that started yesterday night and today

Hello all,

Up until yesterday, my computer has ran fine. Performance was great and rarely did it BSOD. Then suddenly yesterday night it BSOD'ed on me while playing Evolve PC. I shrugged it off as I attributed the problem to not updating my Nvidia Drivers to the newest one since I always feel like the new ones are unstable.

I went ahead and updated my drivers this morning to the newest one and now I'm crashing more than ever. Since this morning around 10 AM CST, I have crashed about 4-5 times already, and one lucky time when it actually recovered the driver. So in total, about 6 video crashes. It would crash ranging from just browsing on Chrome, watching a video on VLC, and playing Hearthstone. Please help me solve this issue as it has almost been crashing every hour today on just about everything

Things I have tried:
Rollback Driver (I am currently on my previous driver, not the most recent one)
Re-plugging in my Video Card
Uninstalled Nvidia 3D Vision and Controller + HD Audio driver

The problem is caused by your graphics driver. Run Display Driver Uninstaller(DDU)
Make sure you tick the Uninstall C:/AMD and C:/NIVIDA folders while you are in DDU when you are done running DDU install your graphics driver again and you should be good to go! Can you also check the temperature of your GPU at idle and under load and report it in your next post.

GIGABYTE OC GURU

 REMOVE GIGABYTE CRAPWARE

Uninstall Gigabyte OC Guru, or at least remove it from Startup. Gigabyte crapware is proven to cause BSODs.

DAEMON TOOLS

 UNINSTALL DAEMON TOOLS

Uninstall Daemon Tools, a proven cause of BSODs.

1. Uninstall Daemon Tools.
2. Download the SPTD standalone installer and perform the following steps.

• 3. Double click the executable to open it.
• 4. Click the button shown below.

   Information

If the button it is grayed out as shown in the image, there is no more SPTD installation on your system and you can just close the window.

Thank you for all the feedback. I went and did a combination of both advice's. I manually uninstalled all the driver software off my computer, then used DDU to uninstall / clean anything left over in safe mode. After that I installed the latest Nvidia driver downloaded from their website and did custom installation. I installed the ones the guide highlighted. I also uninstalled GIGABYTE GURU but did not uninstall Daemon as of yet. Hopefully this stops the BSOD. I'll see in the next 24 hours if I BSOD again and i'll let you know the results.

EDIT:

My computer auto-restarted (NOT BSOD) randomly around 2:30 PM and went straight into a C drive consistency check..

No idea what is happening with my computer, first time I have seen this, but I went ahead and uninstalled DAEMON now. Hopefully this stops the random crashes I'm getting...

Hey there,

So now my computer doesn't even BSOD anymore, it just straight goes into auto-restart. This has happened about 3 times now since I first reported it. It doesn't show up as a error or anything. No dump files are saved and my reliability report doesnt show it as an error. MY computer just powers down and then restarts. Does anyone know what's happening?

Have you gone through the event monitor?, maybe there's something there as why your computer is restarting.

Yeah, I just looked at the Event Monitor as I posted my comment. It says

Does this have to do with my power? I dont know how my computer went from BSOD all day to losing power all day.

I actually unplugged my computer from everything and replugged it back in and it started having trouble starting up. Had to keep turning it off and on until it finally worked the 4th time. Is it possible to identify the issue?
