Hi all,

I am experiencing relatively frequent (every couple of days), but apparently random (in the sense I cannot identify a clear/specific action that causes them) BSOD's while using Chrome, Excel etc.

I would be extremely grateful for any assistance anybody can provide.

This is my first post and I have attempted to follow the instructions to provide all the relevant information.

I have run the SF_Diagnostic_Tool.exe and attached the zipped file it created.

However, please let me know if there is something missing...

Thanks in advance.

Take memtest. Run for 8 passes and test each stick in a know good slot for an additional 6 passes.
   Note
Pay close attention to part 3 of the tutorial in order to rule out the faulty stick.

   Information
Errors are sometimes found after 8 passes. A single error can be found after 20 passes.

   Tip
Do this test overnight, before going to bed.

Hi koolkat77,

Thanks for your suggestion...

I have just run the memtest for over 25 hours - it completed 11 passes and no errors were found.

Although, on the one hand, I am obviously happy that there were no errors, the downside is that I am no closer to identifying what the problem might be!

Any other ideas?

Thanks,
Stuart

Are you sure? Cause almost all of your recent dmp's show Memory_Management 1A errors.

And, memtest can take over 20 passes to show any errors.

Do you have spare RAM sticks compatible with your motherboard?

Definitely sure! Memtest showed no errors after those 11 passes...

Unfortunately, I don't have any spare memory sticks.

Should I run the test again for 20+ passes? It just means I'll have to leave it running for over 2 hours...

Thanks again!

Yes, but testing with different memory sticks would be better and less painful than taking memtest for so long :(

I meant 2 days, not 2 hours! :(

Unfortunately, I need the computer during the week so I'm going to have to wait until next weekend to run the test for 2 days / over 20 passes...

I haven't got any more memory sticks (and can't afford to buy any at the moment) so I'll have to re-run the test and see what happens...

Thanks for your patience - I'll post the results up here next Sunday night...

Hey koolkat,

Sorry for disappearing for so long - I have been needed the PC for work and haven't had the opportunity to run the memtest for the necessary duration over the past few weeks...

However, you were right! I just finished running the memtest for over 40 passes (which took 80+ hours) and it returned over 2,100 errors.

I guess I need to move on to the next step of the process now and identify the faulty sticks/memory slots etc?

Thanks for your patience and assistance.
