Frequent BSOD

Hi
I recently got very frequent BSODs. This happened a day after I did a slew of recommended and important windows update.

I am running Windows 7 Ultimate x64, 4GB ram, MSI 9600 GT card and 2 HDDs.

I've updated the Lan drivers and Ultra ATA drivers. Nvidia drivers are up to date. Running MSE as my antivirus software since day 1.

Hope to get help soon as the BSODs are driving me crazy. I am fine if I boot up to safe mode, and use msconfig to run only diagnostic services. Once I try to restart the other services the BSOD will come back again.

Start out by installing these updated Realtek Ethernet drivers: Realtek

If that doesn't work, try a system restore to a point before the updates were installed:

Thanks for the reply. The first thing I did before posting in this forum was to update the Realtek driver. Since updating that certainly didn't help prevent further BSODs, I took your next advice which was to use System Restore.

Hitting F8 and the choosing the "Repair..." option provided me with System Restore, though trying out a few points proved to be futile as there was always an error message after a few minutes of "restoring". I booted to Safe Mode with Networking after the 4th attempt at system restore, and voila! BSOD. I tried again with Safe Mode and BSOD again. And so I went to BIOS and used the "Load Fail Safe Defaults". Now I am replying to this in Windows, without anymore BSOD... but I don't know for how long. I'll repost if BSODs happen again, either that or I'll just reinstall.
