Frequent BSOD.

Hii All,

For quiet sometime now, i have been getting random BSOD's and i m unable to pin point the exact cause of it

System Spec's

OS: Windows 7 Professional SP1 x64 (Full Retail)
CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q8400 @ 2.66Ghz
Motherboard: ASUS P5Q-VM
RAM: 2*2GB DDR2 Transcend
PSU: 600W
Graphic Card: ATI Radeon HD 4650

Initailly i assumed that i was getting BSOD's because of the graphic card or memory chips and thus i removed the graphic card and one memory chip.

Now i am running my PC without Graphic card and on 2GB RAM!! and still i get frequent BSOD's even while i m browsing.

My motherboard temp's are generally high i.e around 110-120F
CPU Temp is around 92F

Attached Windows_NT6_BSOD_jcgriff2 and System Health Report.

Please Help me out!!

Before we can even begin to investigate the underlying causes you need to update this driver.


Asacpi.sys

The pre 2009 version of this driver is a known BSOD cause.

ASUSTeK Computer Inc. - Motherboards- ASUS P5K-VM

Scroll down to the utilities category, then scroll down to the "atk0110 driver for windowsxp/vista/windows 7 32&64-bit" (it's about the 12th item down).

Download and install it.

Go to c:\windows\system32\drivers to check and make sure that the asacpi.sys file is date stamped from 2009 or 2010 (not before).

Hiii,

Firstly , i have downloaded the file "atk0110 driver for windowsxp/vista/windows 7 32&64-bit" from the given link, but i am unable to install it directly from the "AsAcpiIns.exe" application file provided. It gives the following error:
"Initial File not Found."

So, i tried updating the file from Device Manager -> System devices -> ATK0110 ACPI UTILITY then manually choosing the downloaded file, i get the following message:

The best driver software for your device is already installed

Windows has determined the driver software for your device is up to date

I checked the timestamp of the file present in C:\Windows\System32\drivers folder
it is: Thursday, ‎July ‎16, ‎2009 9:08:39 AM

The timestamp of the file which i downloaded from the above link is :
‎Thursday, ‎May ‎14, ‎2009 6:56:23 AM

I guess this is the reason why device manager is displaying the above quoted error.

But when i check the Minidump files i see the Time String for ASACPI.sys as: 3/28/2005 8:00:36 AM

I do not understand how this is possible!!

I would find the location of the file dated 2005, and rename it to asacpi.bak so it cant load.
