Run this now

Memtest - Instructions:

Download the ISO (or the .exe for USB drives) from here Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool

Then (if you have chosen the ISO) burn the ISO using IsoRecorder: ISO Recorder v3

Boot from the CD/USB and run the test (at least 7 passes per test) with only one stick of RAM in place at a time.

It is a time consuming process but it is the only way to be sure it isn't a RAM fault.

For your final test, run the test with all the RAM in place.

Ok, i downloaded this iso recorder and inatalled but it didnt make a desktop icon, start menu enty or anything!

it said it had installed propperly, i even restarted and tried to install it again. not sure whats happening there

this is the 3rd operating system install that has slowly crippled itself to death and i would just reinstall windows but im sure the same thing will happen again. run fine for a week or 2 then turn to absolute shit

dont have a usb stick to try, would a camera boot if hooked up to usb?

What should the GPU temp max out at?

Did 7 passes with each stick individually then 7 with both, no errors. said it was running at 666mhz does this sound right?

Any suggestions on the next step? I have another video card here to try

Havnt had a bluescreen in a bit, pretty sure its not over yet tho

Also seems to take a few seconds loinger to boot into windows and load everything than usual

The highest temperature your GPU should get up to is 105 Celcius.

Just wait and see if you get more BSODs. Hopefully you have it all fixed now.

have had another blue screen, in the past few days i have reinstalled latest display drivers. had a freeze on asus logo screen in the bios, something i have never seen before. have a program now to read these dump files and i noticed ntoskrnl is highlighted it red for every dump file

have various other issues latelly, after having an error from a game that a directx file wasnt there i figured it was out of date and tried to update but it wouldnt work. tried to install battlefield bad company 2 from a disk and that wouldnt work either

It does sound as if your graphics card itself may be failing. Do you have another one you can test?

If not, I would advise going to the PC store and buying a video card that you could return if need be.

Last night had a crash similiar to what happens just before a blue screen (scrambled screen lots of horizontal lines) while playing bf, i uninstalled all drivers and then used driversweeper in safe mode to discard of the rest, then reinstalled display and chipset drivers, had no bs afterward but only used the computer for an hour or so afterward, if this doesnt work i will swap vid cards and if that doesnt work i will reinstall windows and if that doesnt work at least ive narrowed down possible causes a fair bit
