Hello friends. I am coming to you today in hopes someone may be able to help me with my problems. I have recently built me a computer and have installed Windows 7 Pro x64 onto it. Now the problem happened about a week after assembling the computer. I made a few tweaks and it went away for a bit, but now is back again and seems like it is in full force. The problem that occurs is: after a few hours of use the computer will completely freeze and become unresponsive and requires a hard reboot in order to gain access to my computer again. The second problem I come across is frequent crashes. Now I haven't had one occur to me while at the computer, but coming back I have found my windows has crashed and telling me to check for solutions(which never comes up with anything). If anyone can help me with this problem I would be grateful. Thanks in advanced. PS, I have also ran Gentoo Linux on this computer with no such errors, so I know its in the Windows 7 and not my build.

hi code and welcome

To check for freezing/crashing you need to check several things.

1-Event viewer.
Type eventvwr in search and go to the windows log>application tab. Look for critical errors. Critical errors have red in the left hand column. Look for critical errors that say app hang, or app crash, or anything related to the problem.

When you find them either take a screenshot of them and upload them to us, or note the event ID and source codes and tell us what they are.

2- If you have Blue screens of death.
If you wish to have others assist you with your computer's BSOD symptoms, upload the contents of your "\Windows\Minidump" folder. The procedure:

* Copy the contents of \Windows\Minidump to another (temporary) location somewhere on your machine.
* Zip up the copy.
* Start your own thread in the "Crashes and Debugging" section of the forum and attach the ZIP archive to your post using the "paperclip" (file attachments) button.
* Briefly describe the problem history and circumstances in the same post. Somebody will attend to your query as soon as possible.

Let us know if you need assistance with any of this

Thank you for your quick reply. I am attaching a screenshot of my EventLog. I do not understand this so hopefully you can point me in the right direction :)

The Kernel-Power critical error is just telling me that the system rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. I don't know if it is caused by the errors or not. If I left out any information or you need something else please let me know.
