I did a fresh install just now, first time installing the 7600 RTM. It's running smoothe, everyone is going well. but none of my CD Keys are working. They worked for 7100, and 7229. Is this normal for the RTM since I had to torrent it not get it yet from Microsoft? or did I just write down my keys wrong since it's been awhile?

RTM uses diffrent keys to RC builds. Need to purchase a key, or get one from technet, if you have subscribed to it.

Ah ok. thanks. I'll be waiting then!

Although I was under the impression earlier that many people had begun using the RTM before technet had it released. Did they just not Activate it is all?

and I'll just re install 7100 then. but outta curiousity, what happens if you don't activate it? 30 days then it shuts down on you correct?

Right. It'll run for 30 days without activation. (The RTM build was compiled on 13 July. It was declared to be the RTM on July 22, and released to Technet on 6 August. I checked my memory against Wikipedia.)

However, the 30 day evaluation period can be reset. (Search the Web for slmgr.vbs -rearm.) This can be done 3 times, for a maximum run without activation of 120 days. This isn't a hack, so I guess that it's acceptable for inclusion here.

There is a hack that permits activation of the RTM version using an RC key, but the result has some known problems. (That's aside from any moral or legal considerations.)
