Hi there, Just wondering as i've asked around but still not too savvy on this subject. I have partitioned my main hdd into 2, one is for system install only and the other has programs / game installations. I want to put a fresh install on my system partition but wonder how difficult it will be to use the programs from the other partition, eg. Will i have any registry problems if i try to run the programs straight away? Some of these programs are hefty in size...

Thanks for reading ^_^

Always install your programs to the OS partition since they write registry keys which integrate themselves into the OS until uninstalled.

You can put your user data on the second partition by copying user files there then linking to the related Library - Include a Folder - Windows 7 Forums.

This way your backup image is more compact so if Win7 ever becomes irreparable you can reimage C in minutes while your data will be safe, current and intact on the data partition/drive. Backup Complete Computer - Create an Image Backup
