Fresh load, windows updates wont find..

So ive found certain machines do this. Dont know why. Fresh load and I try to install the convience updates. First one goes fine. The big update sat for over 24hours searching. Ive seen about 3 out of 20 machines that have done this one. Gaveup on it and updated the agent to the newest one. Its been searching for updates since friday and hasnt found anything just still searching.

Does anyone have any ideas?

quickest way ive found to update, change the WU updates settings from X to Y and back again tick recommended
BUT let me choose..
