I recently had some problems with my laptop and just managed to recover it to previous state (all the recoverys points were deleted ) and i am very interested to install a windows 7 ultimate 64bit.
But my big question is....is there any way to merge all programs from 32bit version to the 64 bit version?
I do have some custom programs installed on my laptop that i can't get my hands on them any more and to buy them again...that will be a good few hundred £...
Can any one give me an idea?

The change from 32bit to 64 MUST be a clean install (format). You can import SOME of the data and settings by using the windows easy import wizard, but the programs have to be re-installed.

So upgrading from 4gb to 8gb of ram and from 32bit to 64bit doesn't help that much?
I have a pavilion dv6-1130sa with Intel dual core t4200,512 Mb ati radeon graphics and 4gb ram...should i keep it like this?
Honestly i have the pc like this since 2009 and didn't had any problems at all, until yesterday when i was upgrading my WD passport...and that caused my windows to crash...but now is back to normal :D

At 8 gigs it does, at 4 not really since 64bit uses more resources than 32 it is a wash.
