Frozen Startup Screen

A spare machine that I have that I use for testing purposes has recently been having a problem at startup. When I turn the system on with a new USB device plugged in, the startup screen just freezes. If I un-plug the system, hold down the power button for a few seconds and try again, it seems to work fine. Although, it seems I have to to this every time I boot up with a new USB device plugged in. I have never had this problem with me primary machine but I was wondering if there is another way to get around this rather than my current method. My assumption is that my BIOS is not taking new USB devices very well. Should I update the BIOS or is that not the problem?

Thank you,
Stephen Hobson

Well, to be honest, I've had the same stupid little problem. My situation, was my PC was essentially trying to boot from the USB stick. Even my Sony PSP, if it was causing it. Go to your BIOS and find your boot priority. Make SURE that your harddrive your current operating system is first boot priority, then CD drive (Incase you need to work on something without Windows) and if possible, and you know you wont use it, disable anything in your boot priorities regarding USB stuff, its not common to use USB things to boot with, check it out and lemme know how it went! :)
