Solved fullglass.exe doesn't appear to change anything

I'm trying to install one of those awesome glass themes, so of course it came with fullglass.exe, instructing me to place it in the startup folder. It didn't do anything that I could tell, so I rebooted the computer multiple times. I did some research, tried the Uxtheme patcher, and tried running fullglass as admin. Nothing seemed to work. I'm running Windows 7 Home X64 with a Core i7, Radeon HD7970, and 8GB RAM.

its years since i tried the glass thing, but if i recall there is an icon in the hidden icons (systems tray area).
clicking that will probably give you an option to turn it on.

though i may be confusing it with a different full glass prog.

Post a link to the theme that you are trying to use and I will look at it and see what's going on.

Is this a dark theme?

Clicking on the icon in the tray only gave me a flyout menu with the options "about" and "exit".

I was trying the Elegant, Orange, and Red from this page. 10 Cool Glass Windows 7 Themes

I'm assuming it's the same with the Black Glass Enhanced, in that I have to put it in the startup folder?

OK I tried all 3 theme Orange and Red work fine with FullGlass.exe, Elegant was not built for FullGlass.exe.

What happens if you run FullGlass.exe outside of the startup folder do you get the glass look?

No, I don't. Though something involved gave my icons on my taskbar a softer look.

On closer inspection, it's just the color of the taskbar changing to make it appear softer.

I actually wanted it screenshot of an open window like my computer, but I can see which you mean by the taskbar.

That looks like Windows basic theme, Have you done either one of the two tutorials I posted in post #11?

Yeah. For some reason, it doesn't seem to have an effect.

Which one is you use Universal Theme Patcher or UxStyle Core?

Click on start button in the search box type Aero and look for Find and fix problems with transparency and check for problems.



Take a screenshot of C:\Windows\Resources\Themes folder so I can see what's inside (as shown in my example below).

I tried Universal Theme Patcher. And for some reason, it just started working. Not sure what it was, but thank you very much for your time in helping me with this. Well...The theme, anyway. The transparency still isn't.


UPDATE: On a whim, I ran the theme patcher again, and now the transparency is working properly. I must have missed a step earlier. So again, thank you for your time and help.
