Futuredial in XP mode

Hi I'm new to the forums, I did a search on futuredial and nothing came up so I hope I'm not starting a new thread on something I didn't find (end disclamer).

I recently got a new laptop that is running Vista on it and I'm trying to use a work related application called SN-RMS (made by futuredial). The application requires XP service pack 2 on it and they claim it will not work with anything but that. I have gotten it to work and install all the required drivers (everyone phone ever made there are lots). However when I get to a certain segment the usb hub that i'm required to use blue screens my computer.

So here is the main question, does XP mode account for drivers as well? Could I install drivers and essentially run them in XP mode? Like if I installed the program, and it installs the drivers would they work (to the best of your knowledge) in XP mode? I REALLY do not want to have to DOWNGRADE my laptop in order to get this to work. I would need a new machine and I know one that has the required hardware to run it and I'm more then willing to pay for it. I just need to know really if XP mode supports things like unsigned driver signing.

Sorry for the wall of text, thanks for your help :D

Hello and welcome.

In Windows XP mode each device has to have an indipendant driver to that of Windows 7.

The device has to be able to be recognised (but not neccasairly work with) Windows 7 for it to be able to work in XP Mode (this is because the USB ports are being shared with Windows XP Mode via Windows 7)

So basically Windows XP Mode should sort out your problem.

Just as a passible but by the sounds of it unlikely solution could be to eun the application in compatability mode in 7.

Thanks for the reply =)

I'm running it in compatibility mode right now in vista (one way I get past the "wrong OS" check when using it). Is compatibility mode in windows 7 a lot better then in XP?

Thanks

Compatability mode is just easier to use with less hastle than XP mode that's why I suggested it but if Compatability mode doesn't work that's when you should start using XP Mode.

As you're new to these parts I just wanted to let you know what all the knobs and buttons do.

To the top right of this post you will see 3 icons. An orange (+), a set of scales and a red and white warning triangle.

The orange (+) or blue (-) denotes whether a user is on or offline (orange = on, blue = off)

The scales are used to give rep points; click this button if someone has helped you significantly or solved your queries (only give this to posts you think really deserve it).

The red and white warning triangle are used to denote either an abusive post OR to mark a thread ad solved (just put solved in the box that comes up and the admins or moderators will mark it solved).
