Here is a screen shot attachment I took of FutureShop prices and Version of Windows 7...they have a pre-order promotion till July 12, 2009 but the full versions a little pricey don't you think?:sarc:

These companies really have to lower these prices if they want it to be a successful operating system in terms of sales, but overall I can't wait to buy to final Ultimate X64 version (looking around for better prices).

I would probably be happy enough with Professional. The things that are in Ultimate that are not in Professional wouldn't really affect my life. Unless, there are things that are in Ultimate that isn't listed on the Futureshop... then again, Futureshop has a tendency to leave out "certain" information.

You don't know guys how mad am I atm when I see those prices. I knew that the Canadian prices would suck compared to the US one... THIS IS ALWAYS THE CASE ON EVERYTHING. I'm getting rather tired to be squashed by the US price wise!

I agree with you, its $25 cheaper in the U.S. I wonder with the best conversion if buying in the U.S. would be cheaper.... even with the exchange... maybe have to wait until the Cdn Dollar goes up...?

Always blame the exchange.
On top of it all, I have to pay two sale taxes (total 13%). BS.

224.99 * 5% = 236.24$
236.24 * 7,5% = 253.96$ !!!!

I paid Windows Vista Home Premium 265$!!!

LOL, you don't live in Quebec and it shows lol.

Still, I would have loved AT LEAST that microsoft reduces the price on full versions.

I have passed through a few times but never lived there, we might see some deals (not as good) on the full versions after Oct 22.

I agree with you. Im not interested in the 'upgrade' version because i just dont know enough about it. Id like the full version, but to pay $330 or $225 for the Pro/Home Premium?? Give me a break...

Why would someone want to spend over $300 on an OS when that money could be spent on a better video card or processor..

Just buy the upgrade version. It's the same as the full version. The same! When you install, choose the fresh install option, that's all.

Really? I just didnt know if you always needed to 'upgrade' and existing install of windows to use it, i mean it's called the UPGRADE option.

So if there are NO partitions with any windows installations i can use it to do a fresh install?

You can if you have an old windows xp/vista disk or reg key. Even if it is not currently installed.

There is a possibility you don;t even need that, the vista disk you could instal without registering or activating and then you could "upgrade" on top of that, but frankly I would expect that hole to be closed. Might wait to see if someone with a true RTM tests that first.

Also, can you not buy the OEM version in Canada? That's susualy anywhere from 1/2 to 2/3 the price of the retail version, it's the one I've always used.
