G9 OLED and Windows 7

After having all my thread attempts deleted over at Reddit/Windows 7, I thought I would try here. Is anyone using the Samsung G9 OLED with their 7 install? If so , any issues with the resolution (5120 x 1440)?

Why would that kind of thread get deleted? OLED is pretty cool tech, but beyond my budget unfortunately so I couldn't tell you.

Meanwhile, still trying to get through the initial install on my x570 board. It was easier using my system for a Hackintosh than trying to get 7 or 8 on it...

So they have a no-newb policy? Interesting. I would believe it, anyhow. It's just one of many micro-managed shitholes that define the internet today.

Post more details. Did you get an installation media with your monitor with all the drivers and stuff? If so, what happens when you try to install? I would think a generic monitor driver would work without anything special but I had my monitor for over 10 years so I don't remember the procedure. Does it fail utterly or only on that one resolution you described?

If it works on a Crapintosh and not your machine, it is one special monitor. What am I saying? It's an OLED, it is one of a kind. I'm curious, what connector does it use? HDMI? Does it get warm to the touch? Is it really better quality than an LED/LCD monitor?

The monitor is fantastic with Win 11, but because of how mac does resolutions it looks fuzzy at best. Was using a 4k 49" OLED with the Hackintosh prior to trying Win 11, and wanted to see how all the pretty transparencies looked under Win7. DisplayPort for Linux, HDMI 2.1 for Windows and macOS.
I wonder if me having Windows 11 on one of the drives in the box is not allowing Win 7 to proceed installing...
Once I experienced OLED, and now QD OLED, there's no way going back to anything else...

Ok, this sounds like a Windows 7 installation problem which has nothing to do with the monitor. Personally, I was unable to boot to my Windows 7 SSD after running my Windows 10 SSD (never had both SSDs plugged together simultaneously) so I would be careful.

If you just wanna see what Windows 7 looks like on your OLED, why not install 7 on a VM?

Are you sure it's not placebo? I mean, when I switched from CCFL-LCD to LED-LCD, the difference was obvious. Significantly less distortion when viewing on an angle, no more visible blurring during motion and darker blacks. I hated my first LCD, it was noticeably worse than my CRT, but my LED-LCD has the same brightness and color quality as the CRT.

I simply can't imagine something better quality than this, at least not anything noticeable. Can you tell me with a straight face this is indeed so?
People have told me DVD-Audio is better than CD quality, which is technically true but I could never tell the difference. Years later, numerous blind tests confirmed my suspicion. I am not spending thousands of dollars just to go from 95% perfect quality to 99% if you know what I mean.
