Gadgets don't save settings

Hi all,

Using Windows 7 Ultimate here. Every time I restart, my gadgets don't automatically open. Furthermore, the settings that I put into them such as pictures folder for the slideshow gadget, or email settings for gmail, or countdown description and date for countdown gadget don't save. As soon as I put in the settings, then hit OK, it reverts back to defaults like I never changed them in the first place.

Anybody know the fix, or if this is a known issue?

Not known for sure. Did they ever work? if so do you have a backup you can restore from?

Found the issue, it was the settings.ini file in my appdata/microsoft/windows sidebar folder. Closed all gadgets, renamed the file, then opened gadgets again and all is better.
