Game Booster

I have heard a lot of places that Game Booster will help speed up gaming.

Does anyone know if it will help or is it just like using a Registry Cleaner?

Trust me my friend these softwares dont do anything.. Game Performance is all based on your Hardware and there Drivers.

gamebooster stops some of the services that the computer doesnt need whilst gaming, it switches them back on when you finish gaming, actually if i remember correctly there is a list that you select what to turn off then you have to turn them on before you can resume normal computing. when i used Vista and had a lesser spec machine it was handy but in general most pc's these days dont need gamebooster.

it may make a tiny bit of difference if you have a marginal machine, by freeing up some ram.

with your rig, you won't notice it.

I used it on my old machine and it didn't help much. I have heard some swearing by it but I just didn't see it. +1 on you definitely don't need it with your specs.

I have a medium to high end pc. I still like to run Gamebooster before I start gaming because I see no reason to have a lot of unnecessary services and background services running while gaming. It takes 5-10 seconds for Gamebooster to work and then I'm off gaming. When done, it relaunches what was stopped and closed.

True, might not make a huge difference but I like letting the game use all resources possible...and I NEVER have problems like many due running games.

tried it before and it doesn't make a difference on my machine. Look at my specs I have enough ram so this pretty much does nothing. So I doubt it will do much for you. I suggest lowering settings or manually tweak your pc to use less ram or tone down settings in what ever game you playing like AA and filtering or resolution

what gfx chip has the machine got?

i used to have an nvidia ion chip in mine, and it could play source games like half-life 2 fine on low quality settings, but then again i did upgrade it to 3 gigs of ram (and perhaps surprisingly played quite a bit better in xp, so i kept a dual-boot config).

the trackpad wasn't great for fps gaming though.

I found GameBooster very handy, in fact, especially because, once I set it up and tweak it a bit, it stops all the services I don't need during gaming but are too troublesome for me to turn off manually. When running some games that require a lot better specs than mine, those disabled services seemed to do the trick.

This may not actually give you better game performance, but it can, however, have an impact on the games' stability.

Portal 2 repeatedly crashed to the desktop for me until I dragged the .exe into GameBooster; same thing happened with Sims 3 Medieval. I couldn't actually have better performance, but they were a lot more stable.


If you're unsure about using it, just try it, it's free and doesn't really pose any threat if you install

Not sure what games you're looking to play on that netbook, but for the most part if it is anything much beyond Solitaire then I would forget about it. You can see how well it doesn't perform here,

Well I can run just about Minecraft & Terraria (get around 40FPS with Optifine and low settings on Minecraft).

ye you won't be able to play much, only 3d game I can think of that will run without or minimum lag on that netbook is GTA Sandreas and Vice City or stuff like portal,half life or something of similar requirements
