I'm thinking of getting a console to have a better gaming experience. I suck at gaming but like to play regardless. I struggled with GTA4 but stuck with it. The problem is I can't drive with a kb/m and can't shoot with a controller (xbox 360) so I use both. My understanding is this is not a problem with consoles.

However, a lot of youtubes on GTA show drivers getting out of cars and walking around in circles which make me wonder if there are similar problems. On the other hand, most of the games are shooters so it can't be too difficult to shoot with a controller.

There are a lot of really interesting games coming out in the next couple of months and I'm wondering if I'll have more fun with a console or a pc. My pc is up to snuff as I've played Crysis 3 with no problems at all, but I'm not sure if that matters any more. However, there are a lot of threads on the pc side about being able to play the latest Ubisoft games because of hardware. I don't want to buy a multi-hundred dollar card that costs as much as a console.

Also, I usually don't play multiplayer because I can never get past 15 seconds before spawning. That's how bad I am.

Im pretty horrible at online FPS games myself with a controller. I do OK with a KB/Mouse but not a top notch FPS gamer.

I have a PS3, PS4, and a Wii U,
I enjoy all of them a great deal.

I also enjoy PC gaming.

For me, I enjoy being able to kick back in my recliner and play with a controller. I find many games, especially 3rd person games, much easier with a controller. I find FPS games difficult to aim with a controller, so prefer Mouse/KB. But, Im sure given time Id get used to it.

But here's the thing. Depending on your PC, most will offer superior graphics, better frame rates etc. All round, PC gaming has the better visuals. Also, if using Steam, games are cheaper as well.
You do not need to get a console to enjoy the best of both worlds. Just pick up a XBox 360 Controller and it will work on your PC. Many games support it.

Much as I love my PS4, my now aging Gaming rig still knocks its socks off. The big reason to go console is for the exclusive titles, and for a compact system so you can just lay around on the couch. No tinkering required (adjusting graphics, editing ini files etc)

Having said all that .... I would have to say I enjoy gaming on my PS4 and Wii U more so than my PC. I'm not sure why, but I do. Ideally having a PC and console of your choice would be the way to go.

Most of the games I'm interested in are available for the PC. I have an HDMI cable linking the PC to my 50" TV but the problem is getting a comfortable position for using kb/m. This is much better on my desk. But, perhaps, I should just give the PS4 a whirl as I have the money for it. Thanks for you reply. It makes sense and I think I will spring for the PS4.
