Games for Windows = Marketplace, LIVE Redistrib. - needed?

I have the following installed and I'm unsure if I need them:

MS Games for Windows Marketplace
MS Games for Windows LIVE Redistributable
Windows Live ID Sign-In Assistant

I have Batman Arkham City installed, which has something to do with MS Games and I'd like to retain functionality. Are any of these programs unneeded if someone just wants to play MS Games?

You can remove them just fine with no problems. Then restart. If the game needs them, they will be reinstalled. No harm done. So if they do not return-the game did not need them.

As far as I'm aware GFWL is being/has been retired. If Batman doesn't run after deleting them you'll have to uninstall and reinstall through Steam, it'll work fine then.
