I've encountered another problem here, I have Need for Speed Shift, NBA2K10, and Operation Flash Point Dragon Rising and none will start. I double click the shortcut and the exe in the program directory and it just my computer just sits here and does nothing. Left4Dead starts fine but the above 3 do not. I'll take any suggestions.

I don't know much about laptops or notebooks so I am just speculating here.

3072MB of RAM? I have never seen this but I am assuming this means 3GBs.

Up to 256MB video Memory? Here is where I think you are suffering the most.

I am thinking that your notebook is not for Gaming and that your card does not support the games you are trying to play or you need to update your drivers.

Did you used to be able to play the games before?

Yes on vista I was able to play Left4Dead,Battlefield 2, and some others. Windows has told me to update my video card drivers which I did but it still gives me the same message so I'm not sure if thats a problem within a problem or not.

If you use Win 7 32 bit, get the drivers from here...

NVIDIA DRIVERS 186.81 WHQL

Make sure you uninstall the driver you have right now. After you do this, go ahead and unistall the PhysX drivers as well. Restart and install the ones you just downloading using the RIGHT CLICK and RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR option.

Ok did that still have the exact same error in my event viewer. The computer acts as if it going to start the game then just doesn't.
**EDIT**
Wow what a day...every game just started working like someone flipped a switch. Thanks for the help all.

I have the same problem... Currently running windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit ver 6.1, build 7600 Only Unreal Tournament 3 and SUN Online have managed to start up so far. Video card : Ati Radeon HD3850 I downloaded the catalyst 9.10 control centre with drivers and nvidia physX 9.09, but i can't manage to install them because windows 7 automatically installs it's own updates before i can apply mine. I uninstalled hd3800 series video adapter from device manager, restarted my computer and then it was automatically installed again... Any help, please?

Okay, seriously, guys. this is depressing, any help incoming? I tried this solution : "To uninstall the current driver without Windows 7 reinstalling it, go to the Device Manager, highlight the Graphics Card under Hardware then select Uninstall Driver and check the Delete Drivers option too. Select Run... and type in MSConfig then set it to boot into Safe mode. From there run something like Driver Sweeper to remove all remaining traces of the graphics drivers then reinstall the alternative ones from there (use Run as Administrator if you need to). Finally, run MSConfig again and select Normal boot then restart to get back into Windows 7. That should work. I read elsewhere that disconnecting your internet/LAN connection can also help with this problem too. Hope that helps. "
