ALL video cards have/has driver issues. You could visit an Nvidia forum and find people screaming just as loud there about drivers. In short, ATI's drivers aren't any worse/better than Nvidia. That's why they have that thing called "Driver Updates" ;)

Anyways, the OP's issue may not even be a video issue. That's still yet to be determined ;)

My .02 cents

I did as you said and changed to the motherboard-integrated sound card and updated those drivers. The game ran smoother than ever! So far: Thanks a lot :D

The problem remains that there is no sound though. Any idea how to fix that?

EDIT; lolz. Fixed that myself. Just put in some headphones in the audio jack, haha.
