Plantronics make a few lightweight viable headsets.
The model I have is standard plug type as my experience with usb headsets has been ...colorful.

If you up your budget just a little bit you should be in the surround sound headset price range though, and there's quite a few options in that bracket.

this, i have had Fatal1ty gaming headsets since release and love all of them... no they are not exactly for audiophiles lol BUT they still have GREAT sound and even better bang for buck
