untill now i have always played consoles, all my gaming lately has been on the ps3.

i have never played a proper game on the pc(proper meaning not solitaire haha)

so my question is will i find it difficult to get used to the keyboard and mouse thing and if so for how long do you reckon?

i really dont know if i cld get used to it but atm im putting a good bit of money into a semi decent spec pc to give it a try.

I love console gaming, but have only ever been able to get into anything but racing games on them, they just don't cut it on the pc.

but if your into fps at all you will soon be converted to the pc experience. try out battlefield. 2142 is my favourite, though bf2 is very good also. couple of great titles on their way soon too, operation flashpoint, fallout 3, bioshock 2, cod (i forget the version! out november ish), ..........

can take some time getting used to having to patch things, keep them up to date etc, but it's very satisfying once you do.

forums are a major source of help and advise i've found.

have fun!

ease the transition. get an xbox 360 controller :D
i find that using a controller is more comfortable, than keyboard and mouse.
+ win 7 (& vista) has native support for it, and most newer games are 100% compatible
so no worries. there also quite a few apps for using it on older games that dont have gamepad support. (i use Pinnacle Game Profiler, cost money, but its great)

built in drivers will (should) install it automatically. or if you use XP, its as simple as downloading the driver from the Microsoft site. have fun.

Dude, PC is where the **** started man! I like to play both console and PC. But for certain games, like Half Life to name one, I just can't see playing that on a console. FPS are especially great for PC cause the aiming is spot on. The kill is up to your reflexes.

As an owner of both a 360 and a gaming pc, I would have to say that a lot of the time it will depend on the type of game. FPS games are the best on pc, and usually you can get better graphics on pc than you can the console versions (as long as you have nice hardware). I will say that assassins creed, in my opinion, was not as good on pc, becuase the controls were a bit funny. But then again I don't have a wired controller or the money to blow on a wireless controller adaptor.

Welcome to the world of PC gaming. I have to say it all depends on what you want to play there are so many games out there to tell you to look at.
I suggest looking at Steam found here http://www.steampowered.com
You can find tons of games there new and old. I suggest looking at some older FPS you can get them cheap. Unreal Tournament 2004, Half-Life 1/2, Counter Strike, Team Fortress 1/2, Call of Duty (any of them).
I saw someone said to try Battle Field 2/2142 those are great games let me know if you get those.

Those of us here should start a Steam group for SevenForums and trade Battle Field names so we can have some fun there.
