Had 2 4x4 Blazers with V6s, and both of them .. 17-19MPG was about average.

If in that range, I think its normal and about the best its going to be sadly.


I remember a while back there used to Split-Fire Spark plugs that claimed to give better gas mileage. Not even sure if they still make them though.

But if I recall correctly, they did help, but very little.
It was less than 1mpg, more like .5

Unfortunately Governments generally run their term and can do a lot of damage in the process. We need an instant mass vote eject button.

Politicians run their terms, but governments remain until toppled by war. There was a time when I might have considered that a good idea, but no longer, because I would expect that the replacement would be even worse.

While that instant voting button has an appeal to the mind, it wouldn't solve anything, because it would be subject to public impulses that are neither stable or reliable, and it would most likely be corrupted in some fashion by the powers that be.

The only hope for us is that the people themselves become more alert, informed, empowered and moral...but that shall not happen, until the Second Advent.

You can't accurately measure +/- 1mpg yourself since there are too many variables from day to day driving. Air temp and density are 2 factors that affect your mpg and these change constantly during the day.

I drive an 88 Firebird Formula and my mpg range is wide, 12-25mpg.

All things considered, one of the best gas savers is a light right-foot.
