So im trying to reload a NV75S gateway laptop. Drive tests fine was just murdered with viruses, etc.

When I click on install now its asking for a driver like it doesnt pickup the drive. This is in both AHCI and IDE sata operation in the bios. If I click on repair my pc and goto command prompt inside of diskpart it will show the drive as being wiped of all partitions (Previously did a "clean" command on it)

Anybody seen this one before? Showing up in the setup in a different place but not in the list to install too.

Exactly what DVD are you using to install Windows 7?
Where did you get the DVD?

Do you have a Microsoft created Windows 7 DVD?

A windows 7 home premium disk. It works in all other machines. Its actually loading another machine fine at this moment. Its just this machine.

The disks are made in many places. I dont think there is even a way for us to tell where it was made at but microsoft doesnt make there own disks.

And no its not a hacked or pre activated or anything like that. Does anybody with an IQ over 80 even try to use those anymore?

Okay let not play word games.

Did somebody put the data on the DVD other than Microsoft.

And yes people try to use all kinds of DVD's from computer manufactures like Dell, H.P. and Gateway that are not instillation DVD's for Windows 7.

That is why I asked the question.

I won't bother you any longer.

Have a nice day.

Nobody put anything on the disk. It hasnt even had drivers added to the image at any point.

I didnt think of the whole thing with people trying to use those acronis based recovery disks before, havent really seen much of those since vista had just came out.
