I thought I would be smart this time and ask first.:o

I have 7 on one partition and want to start over on another but I don't want to get rid
of the first one.

1. Do I have enough room on the empty side to do the Gateway Recovery thing and

2. When I go to install, will it give me the option to install on the empty one
or will it start installing over the 7?

Hello Sablegsd,

Your post is not very clear. What empty side and why do you want to do a recovery when windows is already installed? Secondly, the recovery will simply erase everything on C: partition and install factory shipped files, if you mean whether you can choose the partition to do the recovery to, no you cant.

You can try booting your Recovery Disks or running the Recovery Partition to see if it will allow you to select D but I doubt it will work.

You'll need a second license anyway to run two installs even on the same machine.

I would find a Win7 installer, boot it to Custom install to D without the factory bloatware, a much cleaner. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1649-clean-install-windows-7-a.html
