Hi ... i know that this is just an Win 7 Forum but nevertheless I will ask my question.
So I found a little thing like the one i marked on this Foto in my Case. I think it is from the Graphicscard because there is on place on the card which looks that like.
So my question is if it is an important thing ... my computer works fine and until now i couldnt find any problems?! But this thing must have a function or not?

It a capacitor. Yes you need it. Capacitors store energe (voltage) for when the card is being taxed like hig frame rates in gaming. they then release the energy.

I would have it looked at by someone before it becomes an expensive book end.

Take my adivice with a disclaimer. If I were you I would call the cards manufacturer and with the number where the emply place is tell them the number and ask them what to do

Good luck

Ken

A few minutes ago, I resoldered an electrolytic capacitor in my downstairs computer, on an NVidia 6200A-LE. Anything graphic intense and the computer would show nothing but colored lines across the screen. I previously replaced the caps because they were blown and leaky. One of soldering joints wasn't the greatest and it became evident. So I went in the garage and fixed the cold solder. Good as new.

On a capacitor of that type, me personally, I wouldn't worry about it. If it fell off lol and the card is still working well (not under warranty too), it's cool. They build the cards with overhead, meaning that if one capacitor fails, there's good chances that the circuitry is able to continue as it should.

If it's under warranty, have them RMA it for a new one or repair.

NEW PIC

So i posted the picture of MY Card ... I had another look on my card to describe it for my card-manufacture. I recognized that the "Capacitor" comes from another place which u see on the pic ... is it something different or should i contact the manufacture? ( i hate to write mails etc. to Asus ^^)

That's up to you but it cme from somewhere and it wouldn't have been put their if it didn't serve a purpose. Although I have read of someone receiving a new card with a lose capacitor in the box yet it didn't come off his card. Is everything functioning right?
