I can't find a driver for this card. Im testing how fast Win 7 would be on an old rig, but can't get the required drivers for this.

I tried the vista drivers for this card, 96.85 i think, but doesn't work, system restarts, screen goes black, no signal etc.

Any ideas, help?

96.85 are the last official NVIDIA drivers for the FX series. They do work and you can retrieve them from Windows Update. They are just tolerably bad though.

To cut a long story short, you should have a look at the 169.XX and 175.XX series of drivers, the last ones for Vista to unofficially support the FX series.

Even more specifically, just check 169.44 (a bit faster in general, but unstable) and 175.19 (a bit slower in general, faster in specific areas like alpha blending, stable, supports custom resolutions).

You can find all of them, along with installation instructions (do not run Setup), here

Which one? 175.19 for XP or 175.19 for Vista?

Thx.

I also have the FX 7500VE card. Same problem with the latest nvidia driver 96.85, black screen on rebooting. I tried your advise about the 169.44 and 175.19 drivers. Installed them manually as the NVISION site subscribes. No game though, I still have the black screen at startup. I don't think these drivers support the FX 5700 card.

Could I trie to do something with installing an old driver version, like an xp driver for example and trie to do something with the compatibility settings on running the executable? I have tried this, changed compatibility, and the driver installed. Win7 reboots fine. But upon looking at the device manager settings, the driver doesn't seem to be installed, and windows says the driver isn't good.

Please some advice....cause the only thing i can think of is waiting till Nvdia makes new drivers for this card and i really hope to get win 7 to work properly.

Here you go! If you are interested in GeForce FX 5700 drivers for Win 7 Donate here and e-mail me at [email protected] to get installation guide.

I edited 175.19_Vista_x32 drivers in order to recognize your Ge force fx5700 (also LE/U). card i had the same video card and I faced the same problems . 96.85 drivers are of zero value.
