I'm currently running Windows XP Pro (upgrade version) and I'm planning to install Windows 7 Pro (upgrade version). Will I have any problems upgrading because my previous version of Windows was also an upgrade version and not the full install version? I'm asking this question because once I open the new Windows 7 software I will not be able to return it if it turns out that I can't use it to upgrade my previous Windows XP version which as I said was an upgrade from Windows 98.
The other question I have concerns the fact that Microsoft tells me I can only install Windows 7 on one computer. What will happen if my current computer bites the dust and I need to purchase a new one. Will Microsoft allow me to reinstall it then on the new computer? Has anyone had this experiance? Thanks

You can use Upgrade version, just not do an in-place Upgrade. Clean Install with a Upgrade Windows 7 Version

Retail Win7 other than OEM can migrate wherever you want as long as there is a qualifying XP or Vista which came preinstalled on the target PC, or a retail copy of either which doesn't even have to be installed - this is on the honor system.
