Hey guys,

So I installed 7 Pro RTM, and plugged in my external sound card and no dice. I wouldn't normally care as I have a working PCI soundcard, except that its a really really high quality DAC, and it cost me a lot of money, so I'd rather not just forget all about it :)

On XP it uses just generic usbaudio.sys, it works on macs, linux, etc without any issues.

What can I try? I attempted to copy across a windows xp version of usbaudio.sys, but that didn't seem to help (I'm not entirely sure I did this correctly).

Why is audio support so crappy in 7... very annoying.

The soundcard in question is a Perreux SXD2 USB DAC (High End Audio Amplifiers for Audiophiles : Products : Silhouette : SXD2 - USB Dac - Perreaux (International)).

Like I said it's completely generic though. Here's a picture of the driver info when it runs on XP:
