Hi guys, i've got a toshiba satellite c660 with intel HD graphics and realtek HD audio.
When I check for latest drivers on the toshiba website, it says that I have the latest ones installed however when I check intel and realtek, they have newer version generic drivers. At the moment my sound and graphics are very laggy and distort quite often when listening to music or watching films.
Should I update the drivers with the generic ones or just stick to the OEM toshiba ones?

I personally prefer to use the manufacturers drivers were I can. For my Acer laptop I go to Acer first, for my ASUS motherboards I go to ASUS. I have had to go to Realtek for Audio drivers for one motherboard because of poor quality audio. And also to VIA when the ASUS supplied audio driver wouldn't even install. ASUS only has Windows 7 drivers form my motherboards. The only kink with generic drivers, especially on laptops, is that some of your custom features may not work. You may find that some of your custom keyboard keys don't work anymore. I'd try the generic drivers, you can always go back to the other ones if you want.

Hi all,
Whilst I'm a 'newbie' here at posting....I have been privelidged (cough!) to have problems with drivers for every version of Windows, multiple makes of printers, graphics and sound etc.

I have used what I think is the best "Freebie" for Drivers. It comes from "Slimware Utilities" - here is the link for "slimDrivers:

https://www.slimwareutilities.com/slimdrivers.php

I hope this is tried by some of you and would appreciate your opinions/comments.
