I was trying to download a kb and went to the page. The page asked to run GenuineCheck.exe and when I did, I got an error that the program is outdated. It has been years that I tried, so confused. Did MS change the procedure to manually download updates. Windows 7 pro 64 bit OEM.

What is the address to the KB ken? GenuineCheck.exe is an old program, and I don't believe applies to Windows 7. Are you using the 32 bit Internet Explorer to download?

What happens if you attempt validation at

Genuine Microsoft Software

Then try to get the KB again

If you are using the 32 bit IE, see if this page finds any issues

You need to use Internet Explorer where validation is required on the Microsoft site - Firefox barfs on the ActiveX code required.
