Get an error when trying to install the driver for my wireless adapter

Hello,
Yesterday I got my desktop fixed because, as the guy said, the HDD stopped working so I got an SSD. He also gave me a new network card because supposedly my old one wasn't working anymore.
At first it was fine and I was reinstalling all applications, but after like half an hour the signal dropped out and I lost connection. After a minute, I got it back but the connection was really slow. I restarted my computer and the same thing happened.
First I tried putting my old card in but the computer froze like it did before I got it fixed, so I put in the new card and tried reinstalling the Drivers and when I was installing it, I got a message saying make sure the network adapter is plugged in. I turned off my computer, took it out and put it back again, the driver installed fine but when I restarted the computer as it prompted me to do so, it said the network card isn't connected again.
Is it a problem with the network card or the driver? Or could it be the motherboard?

Hi what's the make and model of the network card? try going to the manufacture support site to see if they have an updated driver.

Try this.
Go to device manager and uninstall / remove the card driver. Reboot, with the LAN connected and let it search for a driver on the net.

I have tried it and I still get the same error, does that mean the card is faulty, or possibly my motherboard?

if there is another slot on the motherboard you could try that. you could try using a usb wireless adapter to see if that works for you. here are some you can look at. not much money. can you not just use a wired connection as that would be faster than wireless?

No there's only one slot and my computer is far from the router so I cannot use a wired connection. I was thinking about a USB however I read that cards are faster?

How far from the router? How near are you to other wireless networks in your area.

I had the same issue with dropped connections when I was using a wireless network card at my workplace in a room with no other hard wired connection available. The connection was dropping because people in nearby buildings were using the same router channel. So try changing the channel. You'd have to log in to the router to do that.

Scan for nearby networks that might cause interference.

See guide here: The Layman's Guide to Solving Wireless Network Interference Problems

I turned off my computer, took it out and put it back again, the driver installed fine but when I restarted the computer as it prompted me to do so, it said the network card isn't connected again.

Forget my last post. I missed what you posted regarding the error message.

that would be up to you if you want to try another wireless card. the usb adapter might work just fine for you.

I keep on reading that USB adapters are inferior because they are not as fast, and they overheat after longer periods of time which is making me doubt getting one. So why do you think I should be getting one? Sorry if I sound rude, I just want to know both sides :)

I have used one before and it worked great was never hot or even warm. Plus can get them cheap. I am not telling you to go buy one that's up to you. Was just a suggestion. One way to test.
