get updates for program versions I don't have?

windows updates has urgent updates....for versions of office etc that I don't have and internet explorer which I do not use. is it necessary to download them?

also has a big download for nVidia drivers, but everything is working fine and I don't want to mess up to make updates happy

Hide them all. It's what I do.
Especially the graphics driver, they usually try to overwrite your more current version with an older one. I can't figure out for the life of me why it keeps happening either.

The only way I would install office updates is if they relate to .net
...that is assuming that I didn't have office installed, which I do.
