Getting BSOD and other errors

So last week I was getting BSODs within literally 30 seconds of signing in to my account. I gave my laptop to my friend and in a day he made it atleast able to sign on normally.

It's a little slow, and just recently I ran a McAfee scan and got another BSOD. I booted up normal, and I'm fine now.

I try to run the SF_Diagnostic_Tool as Administrator as told to get a dump file, and it says...

C:\Users\Robert\Desktop\SF_Diagnostic_Tool.exe
The dependency service or group failed to start.

I also can't uninstall programs. I am the only user so obviously I am the administrator right? Well it says otherwise...

"You must be an Administrator to remove this application. To remove this application, you can log on as an Administrator, or contact your technical support group for assistance."

Well it says this for every program. And I am the only user so I am the administrator. Hopefully I'm just over reacting and this is an easy fix, I'm not so tech savvy.

Thanks for the help

Hi,

Please browse to C:\Windows\Minidump and see if you can locate a file with a .dmp extension. If so, copy it to your desktop, and then upload it here and I'll take a look at it.

In the meantime, I would advise you to completely uninstall McCrappee - it is a significant cause of issues that we solve - replace it with MSE.

After uninstalling do you still get crashes?

Regards,
Golden

My laptop is pretty slow right now, sorry for any delay.

I can't open the Minidump folder, because it claims that I am not an Admin.

When I go to uninstall McAfee (Has been really good to me the past 2 years, no issues)... it says "An error occurred while trying to uninstall McAfee SecurityCenter. It may have already been uninstalled. Would you like to remove McAfee SecurityCenter from the Programs and Features list?" ... It has Yes and No. I click Yes and it says I can't do so because I am not an administrator.

How many user accounts are on this PC? Is yours the administrator account?

I am the only account on the PC. When I go to the control center and look at this account it shows I am indeed the administrator.

Racer

Go to start > then click on run and type "control userpasswords2"

This resulting windows should tell you if you are the admin or otherwise...

Make sure any programs that might be using the files/folders are not running, as a test close all programs and try to uninstall programs or delete files/folders.
I have closed seemingly unrelated programs which allowed me to delete files/folders.

Try to uninstall programs or access/delete files/folders in Safe Mode.
How to Start Windows 7 in Safe Mode

If that doesn't work try using the hidden administrator account.
