Hi guys. I stumbled across this site while desperately seeking a solution to my BSODs. I built this computer about 3 days ago and since then I have been trying to fix the problem that I cant find. This is my first computer that I've build and set up my self so that could be the problem at hand :p. Here are my specs.

OS: Windows 7 Home 64bit
CPU: AMD Phenom II 3.40 Ghz Quad-Core
Motherboard: Asus M4A87TD EVO
Memory: Corsair 4GB (2 sticks) DDR3 XMS3
Graphics Card(s): HIS Radeon hd 5770
PSU: hec X-Power Pro 650 650W
Case: Lancool PC-K58

I will attach a zip of my dmp files since that seems to be the the standard for BSOD threads around here :P Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I also forgot to add these three pieces of info. My Win 7 Home 64bit is OEM and did not come installed. I also attached two more files to help specify my problems.

Hi Lkoelker and Welcome to the Forum!

Avira is known to be a cause of BSOD's on some Win 7 systems. I suggest that you uninstall Avira using the correct AV Uninstaller for your system until your issue is resolved. Download Microsoft Security Essentials as its replacement. Make sure Windows firewall is enabled!

Outdated drivers to update:

AtiPcie.sys Tue May 05 16:00:22 2009 ATI PCIE Driver or OEM Motherboard

Rt64win7.sys Mon May 31 04:46:43 2010 Realtek LAN RTL811

Please attach new .dmp files to a new post as and if they happen.

Ok, after a few painful hours this is what ive got. Sadly its just a few more dmp files. I updated both of those and got rid of Avira but still I'm getting BSODs.

Hi Lkoelker,

Unfortuneately the two drivers listed above are still showing the same dates. This sometimes happens. Please try re-installing again, possibly in safe mode. I've also spotted another driver (missed it before, sorry) which has a later (Nov 2010) version:

jraid.sys Mon Jan 11 11:28:18 2010 JMicron SATA drivers

Can you download and install CPU-Z. Take screenshots/snips of the Memory and all the individual SPD slot tabs and attach the screenshots to a post.

Run Memtest86+ overnight

I downloaded and installed CPU-Z and have attached the screenshots of the Memory and SPD tabs. In my SPD tab only slot 1 and 3 have information, slots 2 and 4 are completely grayed out. I ran Memtest86+ twice through yesterday and saw no problems, but I also read articles that said it does random tests so I'll try running it over night as well.

My computer also just froze while trying to load the CD that came with the motherboard. It locked down my mouse and keyboard and I had to manually restart. I dont know if this is of any help, I'm just trying to mention everything thats going wrong.

Some things dont seem to be opening correctly in Windows 7 like the System Preferences in My Computer. Also my Adobe Acrobat just recently stopped working so I uninstalled and reinstalled and now it works fine. Lastly I had installed the ASUS EPU that came on the motherboard's CD and that started popping up an error on start up, so I uninstalled that.

Reformatted, made a partition for my OS and didnt use the disk that came with my ASUS mother board. Im guessing it had bad or out of date drivers. Works fine now that I went and found my own drivers instead of using them. Thanks for your help fimble!
